INTERACTIVE MENTORSHIP COHORTS

The cases are hard.
The setting is real.

Real cases. Real scenarios. Real support.

WHAT IT IS

Built around the realities you navigate.

It is a 3-month group mentorship experience built around the specific clinical realities you navigate, organized by setting or clinical specialty, with a cohort of peers who are working through the same challenges you are, led by a mentor who is highly experienced in your world.

Every call is case-based and driven by the clinical realities of your setting or specialty. There is no generic content to sit through. What you bring to the calls is the curriculum.

A note on CEUs: The mentorship group calls are not for ASHA CEUs/PDHs. Cohort members have full access to the MedSLP Collective course library throughout the three months. That access is intentional. The coursework is there to support and deepen what comes up on the calls, so members can pursue individualized, self-guided learning that connects directly to the clinical situations they are working through in real time.

EVERY CALL

Each call moves through three parts.

1

Case-based discussion

The call opens with a case-based discussion. One member brings a real, de-identified case from their own caseload. If no case is submitted, your mentor brings a scenario. Either way, the reasoning happens out loud, together, guided by a mentor who is highly experienced in your setting or specialty.

2

Focused topic discussion

From there the group moves into a focused topic discussion specific to your setting or clinical specialty. This is not a lecture. It is a discussion driven by what matters most to the people in the room, whether that is billing, ethics, documentation, assessment, advocacy, or something the group brings that week.

3

Open Q&A

The call closes with open Q&A. Whatever you are carrying, bring it.

Between calls, your mentor and your cohort are available in a private chat group so the question that comes up mid-week has real people on the other end.

THE ARC

Every cohort moves through the same broad arc.

Every cohort moves through the same broad arc across 3 months. Within that arc, the specific topics, cases, and discussions are driven by your setting or specialty and responsive to what your group actually needs.

MONTH 1

The realities of your setting or clinical specialty

Where you are working, what you are navigating, and what the clinical and institutional landscape actually looks like.

MONTH 2

The complex and high-stakes decisions

The gray areas, the ethical tensions, the competing priorities, and the cases that do not have a clean answer.

MONTH 3

Advanced practice and professional identity

Advocacy, credibility, speaking up, and building a sustainable long-term practice in your setting.

THE COMMITMENT

A full 3-month commitment.

This program requires a full 3-month commitment. The continuity of the same mentor, the same peers, and the same clinical arc across 3 months is what makes the growth possible. You are not dropping into a session. You are building something across time with people who come to know your work.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do I need to be a MedSLP Collective member to join?

No. MedSLP Collective Complete membership is included for non-members for the full 3 months. That includes access to live and recorded ASHA CEUs/PDHs, the full course library, and the private Facebook mentorship community.

Are the calls for ASHA CEUs/PDHs?

The mentorship group calls are not for ASHA CEUs/PDHs. Cohort members have full access to the MedSLP Collective course library throughout the 3 months to support individualized, self-guided learning that connects to what comes up in the calls.

What if I cannot make a live call?

All calls are recorded and distributed to cohort members only, never publicly. We ask for a full 3-month commitment because the depth of the experience depends on consistent participation.

How does the chat group work?

Each cohort has a private chat group for that cohort only. Your lead mentor is available there so the question that comes up between calls has a real person on the other end.

What is the time commitment?

Two 60-minute calls per month for 3 months, plus access to the private chat group between calls. Full 3-month commitment required.

What happens after 3 months?

Members return to their existing level of membership and can opt into another cohort round at any time. At the end of the cohort, non-members can continue as a Collective Complete member, opt into another cohort round, or cancel their membership.

Is this right for me if I am newer to my setting?

Yes. The first month is built around the realities of your setting or specialty. You do not need a certain number of years in. You need to be ready to grow.

Who is the FEES cohort for?

The FEES cohort is a clinical specialty group, not a setting-based cohort. It is designed for clinicians at any stage with FEES, whether you are new to it, experienced and looking to go deeper, or working toward performing FEES yourself.
