🗓️ COURSE AVAILABLE FROM OCTOBER 19, 2026 – OCTOBER 19, 2031
After this course, you will be able to…
- Identify key limitations of impressionistic “pass/fail” video fluoroscopic swallow study (VFSS) reporting and articulate the clinical rationale for implementing standardizedVFSS Beyond Pass/Fail: Standardized Exams and Pragmatic Aspiration Management administration and scoring protocols.
- Apply a systematic physiological analysis during fluoroscopy to distinguish primary biomechanical deficits (e.g., hyolaryngeal excursion, base of tongue retraction, upper esophageal sphincter (UES) opening) from secondary symptoms.
- Formulate actionable, multidisciplinary clinical reports that translate complex fluoroscopic mechanics into targeted rehabilitation goals rather than immediate diet downgrades.
- Identify the clinical, physiological, and ethical factors, including host immunity, oral hygiene, mobility, and patient autonomy that justify allowing oral intake in the presence of known or tolerated aspiration.
