  • 8:50-9:28 PM ET: Educational dialogue regarding the role of the medical SLP for patients with pediatric feeding disorders and dysphagia along with Q and A

Speaker Information and Disclosures:

Kristen West, MA CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Chairperson in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at PennWest University. Kristen has experience in a variety of pediatric settings including early intervention, pediatric acute care, outpatient and school-based services. Prior to transitioning to higher education, she helped establish a public school safe feeding program and served as the feeding consultant for the same educational agency. Currently, Kristen is a volunteer for Feeding Matters, PSHA and ASHA. Kristen has presented at the local, state, and national levels on the topic of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. Kristen is passionate about advocating for feeding and swallowing services for children and their families across the continuum of care and ensuring equitable access to services for all children in need.

Jessica Lasky is a medical Speech-Language Pathologist that specializes in dysphagia and the adult and geriatric populations. Jessica has worked in nearly every setting possible from outpatient neuro rehabilitation, stroke, and trauma 1 hospitals, acute rehab facilities, and SNFs.
