Speaker Information and Disclosures

Lysa Johnson received her Master’s Degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Minnesota- Duluth. She is a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Clinical Mentor and Rehabilitation Program Development Specialist. Mrs. Johnson holds ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, is a member of ASHA Special Interest Group 13 (Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders), a member of the Twin Cities Speech Language Pathology Organization, MedSLP Mentor and has fifteen years’ experience as an SLP. She is a certified Dementia Capable Care Trainer, Positive Approach to Care Dementia Educator and Alzheimer’s outreach Mentor. Ms. Johnson sits on the Leadership and Corporate sponsors board for Dementia Action Alliance, the ‘Evidence based practices' committee for Faith Community Nurse Network and is a collaborative program partner for ACP and ICAA. Her clinical focus includes work with sub-acute care facilities, transitional care units, rehab and skilled nursing facilities, home health and outpatient clinics focusing on interdisciplinary program development, CMS regulations and requirements across care settings, patient and clinician education. Ms. Johnson spends her free time with her family, enjoys coaching curling and can almost always be found with a coffee in her hand.
