Speaker Information and Disclosures

Jessica Salley Riccardi, PhD CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor and the director of the Brain injury, Education, and Rehabilitation (BEaR) Lab. Her research interests include long-term outcomes for children with brain injury, particularly in the area of cognitive-communication and for high risk groups. As a speech-language pathologist, her research aims to inform multidisciplinary practices and policies for individuals who experienced a brain injury during childhood. She is passionate about mentoring students to be exceptional clinicians and researchers.

Erin Redle Sizemore, PhD CCC-SLP is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences department at Mount St. Joseph University. She has over 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist and has worked in a variety of settings including early intervention, hospitals, and schools. Her clinical and research interests include children with in-utero opioid exposure, feeding and swallowing disorders, and working with families.

Erin Forward, MSP, CCC-SLP, CLC , Proficient DIRFloortime® Provider TBRI® Trained Practitioner is a speech-language pathologist and certified lactation counselor who has advanced training in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, early language, AAC, and Trauma. specifically for medically complex children.
Erin graduated from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor degree in CSD and Psychology and graduated from the University of South Carolina with her Master’s in Speech Pathology.  Erin has a Proficient DIR Floortime Provider Certification and is a TBRI Trained Practitioner
She is the regular co host of First Bite Podcast with Michelle Dawson, MS, CCC-SLP, CLC. Theresa Richard, M.A., CCC-SLP, BCS-S is a medical speech-language pathologist and Board Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. While owning and operating a mobile FEES business, she discovered a gap in the clinical knowledge of medical SLPs. She created the Swallow Your Pride podcast which debuted at #11 on the Science and Medicine chart and currently has over 3 million downloads. She has been an invited keynote speaker for several conventions, has served as President of the Nevada Speech & Hearing Association, and has been featured in Authority Magazine, Medium, and Thrive Global.
Theresa continues to work tirelessly to advocate for patients with swallowing disorders and was invited to contribute to 2 papers for the Dysphagia journal on assessing and treating dysphagia during COVID. The recent release of her new book for patients with dysphagia called “So You’re Having Trouble Swallowing,” is an Amazon and Barnes & Noble best seller.  Theresa is the founder and CEO of the Medical SLP Collective which currently has over 6,000 members to provide editorial-reviewed resources, webinars for ASHA CEUs, and mentorship. She also created MedSLP Education which provides solid foundational medical courses exclusively for SLPs and a Medical SLP Certification program.

Ruth H Stonestreet, Ph.D, CCC-SLP Professor Emerita, Fellow/ASHA, Fellow/NAP, BCS-CL – Dr. Stonestreet's career has led her to experience evaluations and interventions for pediatric populations while working in school settings, private practice and academia. Her main interests are craniofacial disorders, syndromes, sequences and associations, feeding disorders, and developmental language disorders. She is Professor Emerita, Fellow-ASHA, Fellow-NAP, and Board Certified Specialist in Child Language(BCS-CL). Her degrees are from Mississippi University for Women and Southern Illinois. She remains active in state and national organizations and has presented numerous times.

Emily Zimmerman, PhD., CCC-SLP is an Associate Professor of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Northeastern University. She directs the Speech & Neurodevelopment Lab, which examines the cross-section of sucking, feeding and speech emergence across environmental, maternal, physiological, and genetic factors. Dr. Zimmerman is the Principal investigator on several NIH grants examining these themes across patient populations, including those born preterm and infants born with exposure to ZIKA virus.

Kristen Deluca, MS, CCC-SLP, is a Craniofacial Speech-Language Pathologist at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. She serves as the primary clinician for the hospitals Craniofacial Program, 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome Program, and Velopharyngeal Dysfunction Clinic. She serves on ASHA's SIG5 Coordinating Committee as Member-at-Large and is an active member of ACPA.

Jill Rabin M.S. CCC-SLP/L IBCLC is a pediatric speech pathologist and international board-certified lactation consultant who has been working with the 0- to 3-year-old population since 1986. She is based in the north suburbs of Chicago where she has a private practice working with young babies and their families to evaluate and provide treatment for feeding and speech/language issues. Her areas of specialty include facilitating breastfeeding in at-risk populations such as preterm infants, babies with tethered oral tissues, and babies with Down syndrome and using the adapted baby-led weaning approach to transition babies with feeding challenges to solids. She advocates for responsive and child-directed feeding approaches to improve feeding skills in infants and babies with feeding aversion. She contributed two chapters to the book Breastfeeding and Down syndrome and has written three posts about breastfeeding and Down syndrome on the Julia’s Way website. She co-authored a book entitled Your Baby Can Self-Feed, Too! with Gill Rapley about the adapted baby-led weaning approach . She has been featured on multiple podcasts regarding breastfeeding and bottle refusal, breastfeeding and Down syndrome, and use of her adapted baby-led weaning approach with babies with feeding challenges. She speaks nationally and internationally on these topics.

Isabel Lawton M.S.,CCC-SLP is a Jacksonville area SLP with nearly ten years of experience in various settings, working across the lifespan. She currently works in the acute care setting but has experience in the NICU, SNF, inpatient rehabilitation, schools, early intervention, mobile therapy, and private practice. In addition to her clinical work, Isabel is a fierce patient advocate who leads regular in-services and webinars on various topics related to Speech Pathology to multiple disciplines, including nursing, physicians, and administration. She has led several initiatives for improved patient outcomes, including the reinstatement of video swallow studies for dysphagia management at the height of the pandemic. Isabel loves contributing to the profession by mentoring student clinicians. Before becoming an SLP, Isabel earned bachelor degrees in International Business and Marketing. She enjoys integrating her knowledge of the private sector and professional development in her clinical practice to help her teammates and students be well-rounded clinically and professionally. She earned her Master's in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University. Aside from her love of all things SLP, Isabel loves spending time with her husband, two kids, and a huge family. She enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and all things related to art in any form. Oh, and true crime podcasts!

Kaitlyn Shrum MA, CCC-SLP, QOM is the owner and founder of Southern Speech & Myo. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders. Kaitlyn holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is a Qualified Orofacial Myologist. Kaitlyn is also certified in teaching Buteyko breathing method. Katie Threlkeld, M.S., CCC-SLP is a licensed, ASHA certified speech-language pathologist with over 8 years of clinical experience. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri in the Health & Rehabilitation Science program with a research focus on motor speech disorders and auditory-perceptual assessment.
